Safety inspections of selected localities in the Moravian-Silesian Region

This diploma thesis presents safety inspection in selected localities in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Ten sections and ten intersections from rural area were selected for an accident rate analysis at first. These locations were compared on the basis of accident rate analysis and accident indicators. After that, were selected three sections and three intersections for a safety inspection. The safety inspection included a visual inspection and risk identification. For all identified risks were proposed a possible solutions.
Study of the Sadova area in Brno

The diploma thesis focuses on the assessment of transport infrastructure in Brno, the Sadová area and presents a solving proposal for selected problems. The work is based on the site's survey and measurement, as well as data collected from all available sources. The CDV methodology on road safety inspections in accordance with EU Directive 2008/96/EC was used as a basis for processing the analysis of individual sites. A detailed risk assessment is performed at four sites in the area where problems are identified and a proposal for their solution is given. In relation to public transport, the work also evaluates the individual bus stops, identifies major drawbacks, and contains suggestions for a comprehensive solution of bus stops emplacement. The proposal also includes suitable places for the implementation of pedestrian crossings on Kociánka.

This thesis presents a safety inspection in selected places in the Vysocina region of the Czech Republic. Six intersections in rural and municipal areas, plus three rural road sections were selected for the inspection and an accident rate analysis. The places selected were compared in terms of the accident rate and one case of each group was then selected for a detailed safety inspection encompassing visual inspection and identification of possible hazards. By eliminating such safety hazards, it is possible to ensure a traffic fluency and to preclude traffic accidents or at least minimize the harm caused by it.

Web application for supporting the safety inspection on the TEN-T road network

This bachelor thesis devotes itself to a web application called CEBASS. The purpose of this application is to display results of the safety inspection on the TEN-T road network and to track adjustments on identified hazards on roads. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to present how the functionality of this application contributes to the process of eliminating road hazards. In the theoretical part of this bachelor thesis the term safety inspection is clarified and web portals currently used by the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic are presented. The second practical part is focused on the origin, development and functions of this application. The conclusion addresses future extensions of this application and suggests improvements
